NORTH REGION MEMBERS

Selecting a member of the Siding Contractors Association will ensure that your project is completed according to Alberta Building Code.

All our members:
  • Are committed to delivering quality service and installation to their clients.
  • Have been in business for a minimum of 2 years and most for significantly more. This is to your advantage because you know our members will still be available to handle follow up or warranty work if required.
  • Maintain current Workmans Compensation and Liability Insurance. Using a contractor that does not have these two insurances in place can put the consumer at risk for potential liability should there be an accident on your project.
  • Are in good standing with the Association and the Better Business Bureau and the SCAA.
  • Are committed to safety on the worksite by obtaining and maintaining safety certification programs.

In a market like Calgary, where custom homes are frequently designed with resale value top-of-mind, an architect can apply the principle of long-term value in material selection for clients looking instead for their “Forever Home.” Calgary-based architecture firm Inertia Corporation was awarded the opportunity to apply this principle in 2017 with the design of their client’s custom home in Calgary’s sophisticated SW neighbourhood of Parkhill. Armed with lifestyle specifications outlined by the future homeowners, a challenging site grade, a general focus on sustainability for the project, and a shared vision for contemporary design, partners Trent Letwiniuk and Stephen Barnecut embarked on the assignment.

The choice of aluminum building products reflects premium quality, values of sustainability, and an honourable legacy in what is built. Aluminum was first used in quantity for building and construction in the 1920s. The applications were primarily oriented toward decorative detailing and art deco structures. In 1930, a breakthrough in the use of aluminum in building came with the construction of major structures like the Empire State Building1

Kaycan has been tracking the design trends, shifting demographics and architecture over the last year and it is clear that dark colors are poised to remain big in 2020, with a shift to bold, tranquil hues, reminiscent of mother nature’s color palette. Let’s take a look at the trending colors for the upcoming year! Castlemore Castlemore is one of our most popular dark shades. Reminiscent of our beloved sweatshirt and as sophisticated as a well-tailored suit, this color is comfortable and yet evokes a quiet chic. Dress your home in a color that is on trend without being pretentious. Willow Green Willow Green is a natural beauty full of promise. This lovely green color is infused with cooler undertones giving it a wide range of color combination possibilities. This shade will meld well with its surroundings without receding into the background. A color that will get noticed for all the right reasons. Manor Manor is our darkest color, a mix of smoky charcoal and true black. This bold shade is a true expression of individuality. Let your inner artist shine by combining this shade with splashes of color along the trims, gables and front door. Be the envy of your street. Cabot Brown Cabot Brown is a rich statement color. This deep chocolaty shade makes us picture a hot cup of cocoa, a slice of luxuriously indulgent fudge. This brown vinyl siding is the perfect color for a larger home with many trims in contrasting colors allowing you to showcase its architecture. A color that will speak volumes. Cabot Blue Cabot Blue is definitely not a wallflower color. This beautiful shade makes a statement without saying a word. A nautical blue that conjures up pictures of the endless ocean, we love the versatility of this enchanting color Midnight Blue Midnight Blue is a wonderfully relaxing color. The color blue has long been associated with peacefulness and who doesn’t want that in their life? The softest shade of blue in our color palette, this color reminds us of untouched waters in a perfectly still pond—quiet elegance. Rest assured your vinyl siding colors will stay as bold and true as when they first installed on your home. Our commitment to color has led our research and development team to develop Helios™ Technology, allowing homeowners everywhere to “indulge in dark, bold vinyl colors”. Want more info? There are more than 200 different gutter guards on the North American market alone, and that’s not counting the hundreds of registered patents for rainwater management systems. Inventors and manufacturers have gone to great lengths to turn out the best possible gutter guards at reasonable prices, but homeowners remain unimpressed. Understandably so, since their gutters keep on clogging—often, it’s the gutter guard itself that clogs up.
